St Moritz

Where alpine tourism was invented in 1864 and where it is still performed most theatrically — frozen-lake horse racing, furs at lunch, and 300 days of sun a year.

When to go

Ski season December to early April. White Turf racing runs three Sundays in February; Snow Polo in late January. Summer is quieter, with sailing and hiking on the Engadine lakes.

Getting there

Zurich 3h by private chauffeur, or the Bernina Express for the scenic route. Samedan airfield, 10 minutes away, is Europe's highest and takes private jets.

What we arrange

Hotels and chalets, private transfers and helicopters, restaurant reservations, guides, events and everything in between — on one WhatsApp thread.

Things to do

Beyond the obvious.

01

White Turf

Thoroughbred racing and skijoring on the frozen lake, three Sundays each February — black tie in the tents, furs on the ice.

02

The Cresta Run

The 1885 natural ice skeleton track, head-first at 80mph. Riders only by arrangement; spectating is easier.

03

Corviglia and Corvatsch skiing

350km of Engadine terrain, with the Hahnensee run finishing at a lakeside hut.

04

Snow Polo World Cup

January polo on the frozen lake, played with a red ball and considerable hospitality.

Insider note

February is the month — White Turf, Snow Polo and the best light of the season all land together, and so does the entire Milanese and London set.
