Antibes

Ramparts, a Picasso museum and Cap d'Antibes' pine-shaded palaces -- the Riviera's quieter, yacht-set answer to Cannes, ten minutes down the coast.

When to go

May to September; July-August brings the superyacht fleet for the Antibes Yacht Show. June and September are quieter with warm sea.

Getting there

Nice Côte d'Azur airport 20-25 minutes by private chauffeur; Cannes-Mandelieu for business jets is 15 minutes.

What we arrange

Hotels and chalets, private transfers and helicopters, restaurant reservations, guides, events and everything in between — on one WhatsApp thread.

Where to stay

The three we would book first.

Things to do

Beyond the obvious.

01

Musee Picasso Antibes

The Château Grimaldi where Picasso worked in 1946 -- his largest single-site collection, overlooking the sea.

02

Cap d'Antibes coastal path

The Sentier du Littoral hugging the Cap's rocky shoreline past the pine-forest palaces, ending near Eden-Roc.

03

Marche Provençal, old town

The covered morning market on Cours Masséna -- flowers, olives and socca beneath the ramparts.

04

Antibes Yacht Show

April's superyacht show in the Port Vauban marina, one of Europe's largest, with private viewings arranged.

Insider note

The Hotel du Cap still won't take cards for incidentals -- bring cash for the Eden-Roc pool bar, exactly as Fitzgerald and Hemingway once did.
