Barbados

The Caribbean's most British island and its most sociable — Platinum Coast beaches, rum shops, Test cricket and a season that peaks over Christmas and New Year.

When to go

December to April is the dry, peak season, with Christmas and New Year booked a year ahead. May to November is quieter and greener; hurricane risk is highest August to October.

Getting there

Grantley Adams International takes long-haul direct from London in around 8h30, plus private aviation. West coast hotels are 30–45 minutes from the airport.

What we arrange

Hotels and chalets, private transfers and helicopters, restaurant reservations, guides, events and everything in between — on one WhatsApp thread.

Things to do

Beyond the obvious.

01

Sandy Lane golf

The Green Monkey and Country Club courses, both Tom Fazio designs, among the best in the Caribbean.

02

Catamaran and swimming with turtles

A private charter down the west coast with snorkelling over the wrecks and green turtles at Payne's Bay.

03

Test cricket at Kensington Oval

When the West Indies are playing, the greatest crowd in world cricket — arranged with hospitality.

04

Holetown polo and rum distilleries

Sunday polo at the Apes Hill or Holders grounds, and a tasting at Mount Gay, the world's oldest rum distillery.

Insider note

Christmas and New Year on the Platinum Coast are booked twelve to eighteen months ahead, and the best villas go to returning families. Plan a year out or take the second half of January instead.
