Phuket

Limestone karsts rising out of the Andaman Sea, a Michelin-starred beach shack and Thailand's best-connected private-island gateway.

When to go

November to April is the dry season and peak; May to October is the wetter southwest monsoon, though storms are usually short rather than day-ruining.

Getting there

Phuket International airport; 30-60 minutes by private chauffeur depending on which coast, or helicopter transfer to remoter resorts.

What we arrange

Hotels and chalets, private transfers and helicopters, restaurant reservations, guides, events and everything in between — on one WhatsApp thread.

Where to stay

The three we would book first.

Every hotel here is one we know personally. Tell us your dates and we will come back with availability, the right room category and any partner benefits that apply.

Things to do

Beyond the obvious.

01

Private longtail boat to Phang Nga Bay

A day among the limestone karsts of James Bond Island and the sea-gypsy stilt village of Koh Panyi.

02

Phuket Old Town heritage walk

Sino-Portuguese shophouse streets in Phuket Town, with a guide through the island's tin-mining-era history.

03

Big Buddha and Wat Chalong

The island's largest marble Buddha statue and its most revered temple, both with sweeping southern views.

04

Sunset at Promthep Cape

The island's southernmost point, and the classic spot to watch the sun drop into the Andaman Sea.

Insider note

Base on the west coast (Surin, Kamala, Bang Tao) for beach and sunset; Cape Panwa or Cape Yamu on the east side trade sunset for calmer water and more privacy.
