Lake Como

George Clooney's lake for a reason -- belle-epoque villas on the water, funicular villages and Michelin tables between the mountains and the shore.

When to go

April to October; May-June and September are ideal. July-August is warm and busy with a lively lake social scene.

Getting there

Milan Malpensa or Linate 1h by private chauffeur; helicopter transfer from Milan is roughly 20 minutes.

What we arrange

Hotels and chalets, private transfers and helicopters, restaurant reservations, guides, events and everything in between — on one WhatsApp thread.

Where to stay

Things to do

Beyond the obvious.

01

Villa del Balbianello

The terraced gardens and loggia made famous by Star Wars and Casino Royale, reachable only by boat or a short walk.

02

Bellagio and the funicular villages

A private boat tour calling at Bellagio, Varenna and Menaggio, with the funicular up to Brunate for the full lake view.

03

Villa Carlotta gardens

Azalea and rhododendron gardens above Tremezzo, spectacular in late April and May.

04

Private lake driver for the day

A classic Riva-style boat and skipper is the only sensible way to see the lake's villages without the road traffic.

Insider note

Book a boat, not a car -- the lakeside roads are narrow and slow, and half of Como's best addresses only have a jetty, not a car park.
