Bali

Rice-terrace villas in Ubud, cliff-top clubs in Uluwatu and temple ceremonies that predate the tourism by a thousand years -- Bali does spiritual and hedonistic in the same week.

When to go

April to October is the dry season and the best time to visit; July-August is peak and busiest. November to March is wetter but lush and quieter.

Getting there

Ngurah Rai (Denpasar) airport; 45 minutes to Seminyak or Uluwatu, 1h30 to Ubud by private driver.

What we arrange

Hotels and chalets, private transfers and helicopters, restaurant reservations, guides, events and everything in between — on one WhatsApp thread.

Where to stay

Things to do

Beyond the obvious.

01

Sunrise trek up Mount Batur

A pre-dawn hike to the active volcano's summit for sunrise over Lake Batur and, on clear days, Bali's whole eastern coast.

02

Tirta Empul water purification ceremony

A guided visit to the sacred spring temple, with the option to join the ritual bathing under a priest's blessing.

03

Jatiluwih rice terraces

A UNESCO-listed terrace landscape near Tabanan, best explored by bicycle with a guide, away from Ubud's busier terraces.

04

Uluwatu Kecak fire dance at sunset

The clifftop temple's nightly fire-dance performance, with the Indian Ocean as a backdrop.

Insider note

Split the week between Ubud for culture and the Bukit Peninsula (Uluwatu/Seminyak) for beach and nightlife -- trying to base in one and day-trip the other wastes half your days in traffic.
